David Wasswa Katongole [Wasswa]
Born in East Africa,Uganda.
Education:at King's College, Buddo, Margaret school of fine art, Makerere University Career: Associate Art director at the Uganda National Television.
Nairobi, Kenya: - late 1960's through to the 1980's working and teaching 'batik painting'
He is known for his bold and colorful works of art. Renown for refining and using batik painting technique's He now paints in Uganda using mixed media's of pen-and-ink and watercolors on canvas and paper
ROSE KIRUMIRA
Roses life was disrupted in the 1970/80's with the political disorder in Uganda. These traumatic times in her countries history have shaped her work in such a way that makes her aware of wastage,scarcity and the need for continuity. Seeking to incorporate an ethos of recycling in her work - especially things that she finds or someone has thrown away or anything that is undervalued. Rose's work has taken her around the world, she also worked as guest researcher at the Center for Africa Studies, University of Copenhagen, Denmark

David Kibuuka
David Kibuuka is one of the founders of "Modern Batik Art Painting" in Uganda & East Africa where he introduced the "Fragmentation" technique to traditional Batik Art. This modification added increasing background depth, broadness and a richer palette of colors, allowing detail and richness comparable to acrylic and water-color painting.His virtual gallery gives David the time to follow his passion which is teaching Modern Batik Art Technique to the next generation of artistic youth.
