Tanzania Art and African Arts Events

"Masai Dancing"

Born in Yorkshire, the founder of Jumart.net moved to live and work in Africa in the 1980's, settling in Tanzania in 1999. From this time he has been involved in several projects that have included art & cultural tourism and working closely with a charity to improve the health and education of 'street children' in Northern Tanzania. Over a period of twelve years, he has travelled the country and developed a passion for the Tanzania art he discovered there, often produced in village workshops and small studios away from established tourist routes. Jumart.net has established links with a number of these extremely talented artists, specialising in affordable paintings and textiles from the Swahili coast and Zanzibar archipelago, which we are able to pass on to our customers or source on request

Creating Opportunities

We raise the profile of artists to a global market by promoting artists, selling their work, providing information about them and where they work from. This exposure provides artists with invaluable opportunities for growth and development as their name becomes more widely known.

How We Operate

Work is sourced directly from the artist or through a network of community galleries and arts cooperatives who give direct income to the artists they represent at local level. Jumart.net passes this work on to an international market through its website, secondary specialist websites, at art fairs, retail outlets, galleries and specialist businesses where we promote the artists alongside their work request.
