African Art and our Fair Trade Ethosart fair trade

Fair trade recognizes the failure of conventional trade to provide a sustainable livelihood for the most vulnerable people in the poorest countries of the world. The World Fair Trade Organisation has set standards to work towards to rectify this failure and to ensure protection and support for those trapped in poverty. Jumart.net endeavors to work to these standards to support the artists/artisans on whom we rely

Creating opportunities:for Tanzanian artists to reach an international audience through working partnerships with Jumart.net. Creating an international market for the art provides sustainable income for the artist.

Transparency:We do not maximize profit at the expense of the artist. We pay for all our art &textiles in advance at a price that is deemed fair by agreement between the artists and Jumart.net. We maintain long term relationships based on solidarity, trust and mutual respect with our associates in Tanzania.
