Tinga Tinga art originates from Tanzania. The ancient cave paintings found in Tanzania have motives that are often found of animals. The same animals are painted today by hundreds of Tinga Tinga artists.

Walt Disney/BBC/Penguin and other companies have started to use the name "Tinga Tinga" for its new children programs called "Tinga Tinga Tales". The animated films are based on illustrations created by the Tinga Tinga Arts Co-operative Society members - Mbwana Sudi, Maulana Saidi, Hasani Kamale, Abasi Rafiki and Zachi Chimwanda. One independent Tinga Tinga painter was also employed - John Kilaka.

In this gallery we have the artist Maulana Saidi painting one of his favorite subjects the Giraffe.
