Art Markets in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam
African art, paintings, carvings and fabrics in Stone Town, Zanzibar or on the mainland in Dar es Salaam and Arusha. Dar has two great markets where you can see Tanzanian Art at its best. These markets are recommended as you are able to meet many of the artists and see them at work. Zanzibar's most interesting market is found at the Old Fort next to the spectacular 'House of Wonders' - on the waterfront - there are also many galleries the old town.

Public transport in Tanzania: we have some general information including Zanzibar Ferries, Buses from Arusha to Dar es Salaam and the Shuttle, traveling between Arusha & Nairobi crossing the Namanga border twice daily.
